Fish Fry-Looking for a few good men

To All Council Members,

I am looking for 2 to 4 good men to help with the drink and condiment tables for the upcoming Fish Fry season. The Fish Fries start on Friday, 2/24 on every Friday thru 3/31.

Duties would be making coffee. lemonade and serving the patrons in drink cups along with keeping ketchup, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce in individual serving cups.

You would be working with another volunteer during the shift along with eighth grade students from Incarnate Word. They would assist you in keeping the drink and condiment cups full and being runners for supplies.

The shift schedules are;

  • Shift one runs from 3:00 to 5:30pm
  • Second shift runs from 5:30 to 7:00pm

You would only work approximately 3 Fridays out of the total of six Fridays of the fish fries.

Please think deeply about volunteering during the fish fries. It’s a lot of fun in meeting fellow council members and parishioners

When : After 8:45 mass – @ 9:30 – 9:35 depending on homily length

This takes @ 20 minutes and is a great way to start the week. Come join us to pray for vocations and any special intention you may have.

The Incarnate Word Knights of Columbus ("IWKnights") held a drawing for their raffle during  IWKnights Lenten Fish Fry . . . proudly celebrating 31 years of being St. Louis' Best Family Fish Fry . . . with a bit of Cajun!

At this time yesterday, the IWKnights’ very own Bryan Hewing and Steve Dickhut appeared on the Dave Glover Show (DGS) on Newsradio 1120 AM / 98.7 FM KMOX to promote the IWKnights Lenten Fish Fry as well as and brought them a sampling of our Famous Fish Fry fare as part of the Dave Glover Show Fish Fry Smackdown 2022, which is a whole series on area fish fry’s, and at the end of Lent their favorite Fish Fry gets the trophy!  A podcast of the interview can be heard below begining at the 19:02 mark:

Fish Fry 2022 – Cashiers Needed

Greetings and Happy New Year

Lent, and the 2022 Fish Fry seasons are quickly approaching and I wanted to reach out and ask for your help this year. Our first Fish Fry will be on Friday Feb 25th and will conclude on April 8th. The Fish Fry will be doing indoor dining and online carryout (no drive thru ordering this year). This is the Knights biggest fundraising and community building event of the year! I hope you can join us this Lenten season.

I will be coordinating the indoor cashier station and we are in need of about 4-5 volunteers for each shift. We will be setting up the cash and credit card stations using the Square app at the far end of the serving line (after people have gotten their food). The majority of the work will involve sitting at the cashier station and taking payments.

Please let me know what dates and shifts (early/late) you can help. Also, if you are not able to volunteer for the cashier station, please let me know so I can take you off of my distribution list.

The following are the Fish Fry dates

Shifts: Early (4:00 – 5:30), Late (5:30 – 7:00)
